Luis Mariano García (Mexico)

Luis Mariano García is a Mexican screenwriter and director born in Cuautla, Morelos, and graduated from the University Center for Film Studies (CUEC) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He has written and directed short films such as Corre sin mirar atrás, Monstruo and Espuma de mar, which have been screened and awarded at international film festivals. His first feature film, Efímera, had its world premiere at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and, after an extensive festival run, is about to have its commercial release. Luis Mariano has twice been a finalist in the Guanajuato International Film Festival’s feature script competition, as well as in the Fernando Méndez horror script competition. He has also been a beneficiary of the stimulus for creators from the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) and winner of the Shorts Mexico script contest. Luis Mariano has written and developed film and television projects for major production companies and recently collaborated on the screenplay of the feature film Mal de ojo.
