Madi Stine (USA)

Madi Stine is a writer/director based in Los Angeles. She is interested in celebrating the beauty, humor, and optimism of human relationships. After earning a B.A. in Film and English from Harvard University, Madi relocated to Vancouver as a Fulbright Scholar, writing a historical screenplay set on the Canadian frontier. She completed her M.F.A. in Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University in New York City, where her horror-comedy short film, Rose & Pinky are Metal, screened internationally and was acquired by ShortsTV. Her latest short film, Out of Water, explores a mermaid-for-hire’s relationship to magic. She’s currently developing Out of Water into a feature. Madi is thrilled to participate in Cine Qua Non Lab’s Script Revision Lab developing her screenplay Emery & Ellsworth Make a Picture, a comedy based on the true story of brothers Emery and Ellsworth Kolb and their making of the world’s first outdoor adventure film.
