Marco Cano (Mexico)

Marco Cano is a Mexican film and television screenwriter, director and producer. He holds a degree in Communication with a specialization in Filmmaking from the Universidad Anáhuac México Norte and studied Film Direction and Production at the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid and Acting at the Stella Adler Academy in Los Angeles. Marco has shot and collaborated in several short films in Cuba, Spain, Mexico and the United States. His most recent short film, Tocar el cielo (2021), was a winning project in the 19th National Short Film Project Contest of the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) and is still touring national and international festivals. Marco was a producer of “Sanando a mi mascota” (2016), a reality show produced by Dish Mexico and MVS Television, and of “Viajero con suerte” (2022), a reality show in post-production and soon to be released. In 2022 he was awarded the “Eká Naweáme” tax incentive for culture and the arts of the state of Chihuahua for his short film Rosa, which, like his feature debut, is about to be produced by his production company Gato Negro Films.
