2026 Taller de Líneas Argumentales

Néstor López Ferreira is a Spanish-Portuguese film director, considered one of the most prominent figures in documentary and short film in Spain, winner of three Goya Awards from the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He also enjoys significant international recognition, having been a finalist for the Academy Awards-Oscars® in 2025. As a director and screenwriter, he has also won the Sitges Film Festival, New York Shorts, and the Silver Biznaga Award at the Málaga Film Festival, and his film Semillas de Kivu was longlisted for the Academy Awards-Oscars® in 2026. He was recently selected for the IDFAcademy and the Ji.hlava Academy, and he was included in the IFFR Rotterdam CineMart Shortlist. In 2024, Néstor was included in the Forbes list of Spain’s top creatives. He has been selected with other projects for the prestigious Ibero-American Audiovisual Project Development Course (CDPAI), the LabGuion in Colombia, the FICG Lab at the Guadalajara Film Festival in Mexico, and “Los proyectos de Atitlán” workshop supported by the Ibermedia Program.
Pater — Irene, a Law Professor at the University of Salamanca, is conducting research on prostitution in Spain. She has managed to meet with several women in prostitution but cannot find any man who admits to being a client. During one of her visits to a brothel, Irene breaks down when she discovers that her father, Julio, is a client. Now she must choose between confronting her father, who represents everything she hates, or taking advantage of his trust and her privileged position to get closer to the subject of her study.
