Nicole Vanden Broeck (México)

Nicole Vanden Broeck holds an M.F.A. in Film Directing from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles and received a Mexican FONCA-CONACYT scholarship to study abroad. Her short film Elle has won several awards, including the Grand Prize Marlyn Mason Award for New Voices and New Perspectives for Women in Film, awarded at the 2020 Rhode Island Film Festival, and the Platinum Remi Award at the 2021 WorldFest Houston Film Festival. Her work as a director has been selected in over 60 festivals worldwide, including AFI Fest, Out on Film, Curtas Vila do Conde and Women in Film and Television. Nicole is a founding partner of the independent production company 6pm Films in Mexico City. Her documentary short film Con el tiempo won the Best Short Film Award at the 2017 EcoFilm Festival (Mexico) and the Audience Award at the 2019 Hola México Film Festival. Nicole has been selected by HBO and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today program and she is currently a BAFTA Newcomers fellow.
