Patricio Saiz is a Mexican screenwriter and film professor. He studied industrial engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and screenwriting at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City. He has written screenplays for feature films such as La celda de los milagros (2025), We Are the Nobles (Nosotros los nobles) (2013), Pobre familia rica (2022), Nada que ver (2023), How to Break Up with Your Douchebag (Cómo cortar a tu patán) (2017), Two Plus Two (Dos más dos) (2022), and The Last Death (La última muerte) (2011), among many others. His most recent release, Estación Wadley (2024), was the opening film of the Feratum genre film festival in 2024 and was also selected to be screened at Iberseries.
Patricio has participated in writing television series such as Las hijas de la Señora García (2024-2025), Los hilos del pasado (2025), Los héroes del norte (2010-2014), Pacientes (2012), and Guardia-García (2018-2019), among others. In the documentary field, he wrote the series Reasonable Doubt: A Tale of Two Kidnappings (2021) for Netflix, and the feature film Carrière, 250 metros (2011), co-written with the renowned screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière and directed by Juan Carlos Rulfo. He has also served as a script consultant for feature films such as Huesera: The Bone Woman (2022), Jugaremos en el bosque (2024), and Celeste Soledad (2022).
Patricio has taught at the CCC, the National School of Film Arts (ENAC) of the UNAM, and the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, among other institutions. He is also a pitching advisor for the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the Feratum film festival, and the CCC’s InPitch program.
