With a degree in Communication from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and an M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University in New York City, Pedro Coutinho directed and wrote the feature film Todas as Razões para Esquecer (All the Reasons to Forget), nominated for Best Comedy at the Brazil Grand Prize. He also directed and wrote the episode Sem Saida (No Exit) of the television show 5x Comedy (Amazon). As a screenwriter, he wrote the pilot and was the head writer for the series Eu, Ela e um Milhão de Seguidores (Me, Her and 1 Million of Followers) (Multishow), and also developed projects for Netflix, HBO Max and Globoplay. Pedro directed the second season of the television show Elmiro Miranda Show (TBS) and  has directed hundreds of commercials, including for big brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, McDonald’s, Heineken and Pizza Hut.

Pedro was a participant in Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2020 Script Revision Lab with King Crab.

King Crab — A huge crab, typical of icy waters, invades the sea of Baía Formosa, in the northeastern of Brazil. Divine miracle? Global warming? Nobody, at first, wants to know why. After all, the important thing is to profit. Fishermen, politicians, religious and even quiet housewives want a piece of that crustacean, causing a social and economic revolution in the small village.
