Pedro Riera Emleh (Brazil)

Pedro Riera Emleh is a Brazilian writer and director who holds degrees in Communications and Playwriting. In 2024, he completed an M.F.A. in Screenwriting at Chapman University with a Fulbright/Capes Scholarship. With over a decade of experience as a staff writer, his television writing credits include Back to 15 (Netflix), Love Me Not (Warner), Friend for Rent (Universal TV), Neighbors (GNT), and Brainiacs (Gloob). In feature films, he collaborated on the screenplay for the romantic comedy Dissonantes (Disney+). In non-fiction, he was the head writer for The History Show (Futura) and contributed to the docudrama A Thousand Days (History Channel). Pedro also created and wrote the feature documentary Wladimir—Memories Beyond Football, to be filmed in 2025. His first documentary short film, Almost a Family Trip Movie (2019), was screened at various Brazilian festivals, winning several awards, including one for “Making People Cry at a Comedy Festival”.
