Memory Lapses (Lagunas mentales) [co-written with Ileana Elordi] In 2005, 60-year-old Carlos, a Chilean raised in exile, returns to the judicial reenactment of his brother Luis’s disappearance, a MIR guerrilla who was last seen in 1981 in Neltume as part of Operación Retorno. His search —both technical and symbolic— uncovers painful truths and the unhealed wounds of Chile’s past.
