Via Bia (USA)

Raised on the humid asphalt of Long Island, New York, Via Bia grew up in a Puerto Rican, Jewish, and Evangelical multi-generational home where God was in charge, and by that, she means her abuela. Via is a Sundance screenwriting lab alum, and a past winner of the Virginia Screenwriting Competition, both for her magical realist feature script The Radish Baby. Her first short film, These Colors Don’t Run (2017), was distributed by HBO. Via lives in Los Angeles and writes features, episodics, and shorts about cursey mujeres who are learning to be a little more vulnerable.

The Radish Baby — A Latinx garnish chef must confront the memory of his cruel father in order to become a loving parent… to a carved radish that has magically come to life.
