Cine Qua Non Lab is pleased to announce the participants selected for its 2024 Script Revision Lab.
The Script Revision Lab is a residential workshop that gives independent filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to work intensively on their feature-length narrative scripts in an environment structured to foster professional collaboration and high-quality script development.
The 2024 Script Revision Lab will be held August 7th—20th in Tzintzuntzan, a small town in the state of Michoacán, Mexico, approximately 50 km from the city of Morelia, in a quiet natural retreat overlooking Lake Pátzcuaro.
The 2024 Script Revision Lab will be facilitated by Christina Lazaridi (Greece/USA) and Angeli Macfarlane (United Kingdom).
Christina Lazaridi is an award-winning screenwriter and internationally renowned screenwriting mentor. Projects she has authored, or actively developed, have been nominated for an Academy Award—Oscar® and have won awards at the Cannes, Berlin, Tribeca, Sundance and SXSW film festivals, among others, as well as the Ariel Awards in Mexico and the Silver Condor Awards in Argentina. She is currently an Associate Professor of Practice at Columbia University’s Graduate Film Division.
Angeli Macfarlane is a writer, producer and story editor. Throughout her career she has acted as executive producer, script editor and mentor for many key organizations, including the British Film Institute, Film London, BBC Film, Film4, Screen Ireland, Vic Screen Australia, Berlinale Talents, Series Mania, the British Council, and the National Film Development Corporation in India. She is a senior screenwriting tutor at the prestigious National Film and Television School in the United Kingdom.
The 2024 Script Revision Lab Will have as special guests Ilyse McKimmie, the Deputy Director for Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Program, and Jeremy Podeswa, an award-winning feature film and television director who has directed for many of the most groundbreaking cable television series and mini-series, including Game of Thrones, True Detective, The Handmaid’s Tale, Boardwalk Empire, Six Feet Under, Dexter or Homeland, amongst many other.
The 12 participants in the 2024 Script Revision Lab come from Canada, Colombia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Iran, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the United States of America, and were selected based on the quality, freshness and originality of their projects.
